I am a photographer, a skateboarder, and a traveler, and am happiest when doing any combination of those three things.
Born and raised in the Midwest, I first picked up a Vivitar 35mm SLR early in high school to document my friends playing in punk bands and skateboarding. After a few years of late nights printing black-and-white photos in a makeshift darkroom set up in a bathroom I decided to seriously pursue photography and attended Columbia College in Chicago. At Columbia I continued progressing as a skateboard photographer and also learned to control light in the studio. Even before completing the 4-year program I was taking on assignments for clients, including being brought on as the photographer for a nationwide tour put on by éS Footwear. Upon attaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Photography I followed in the footsteps of countless skateboarders before me and ditched Chicago winters for sunny Southern California where I live and work today making photographs for myself, and for brands and publications big and small.
My clients include Etnies Footwear & Apparel, Emerica, éS, Altamont, ThirtyTwo, Zumiez, rEvolution Marketing, ESPN Online, Transworld Skateboarding, Skateboarder Magazine, King Shit Magazine, The Skateboard Mag, Firebrand Media, SHAPE Magazine, and many more.
Currently based in the Los Angeles-area of Southern California. Available for commercial and editorial assignments worldwide.
